The twelfth membership spotlight of the spring semester is Dylan Manderbach, a sophomore public relations major. This is Dylan’s second semester as a member of PRSSA and he is a very involved member of our chapter! Dylan can often be found attending PRSSA events and bonding with other members.
Here is a Q&A session with Dylan:
Q: Where are you from? What is your major/minor?
A: I am from Harrisburg, PA. My major is Public Relations and I have a minor in Journalism Studies!
Q: Why do you love PRSSA? What do you hope to get out of it?
A: I love PRSSA because it gives me the opportunity to be surrounded by other college students that are as motivated/professionally focused as I am. The networking events are also a bonus because it has given me a head start on my future career.
Q: What committee are you a part of? What have you done with this committee?
A: I have been a part of both the PR Committee and Regional Conference Committee. In these committee's, I have learned how to write pitches to the media, write press releases and put together media kits.
Q: What PRSSA events have you participated in?
A: I recently went to the PRSSA Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference here at Temple, and it was one of the most enlightening events that I have attended so far in my college career! I loved being able to network, learn more about the profession and watching this event transpire from beginning to end.
Q: What other TU organizations are you a part of?
A: I am an Account Associate for PRowl Public Relations, I participate in Temple University Fashion & Business Club and I am going to be an RA in Morgan North next year! I am so excited!
Q: What is the coolest place you’ve ever visited?
A: Probably Missoula, Montana. My aunt lives there, and it is gorgeous/super artsy! I highly recommend everyone to visit that beautiful state at some point!
Q: Favorite social media platform and why?
A: Definitely Instagram. I love seeing everyone's creative captions/images because it really gives you insight on who they are as people. So fun!
Q: Dream job?
A: Getting a PR job in the fashion/entertainment industry would be amazing one day. Pop culture has always been such a huge part of my life, and it would be fantastic to be immersed in that field.
