Procrastinating always feels like a good idea—until you realize you procrastinated and you have to stay up until 3 a.m. to complete an assignment.This workshop is for anyone that has trouble remembering assignments or meetings, can’t seem to stay on task, or waits until the last possible minute to do their work. The Office of Leadership Development will help you stay on track and on time. As college students and future PR practitioners, time management is indispensable.
Clarify Your Values Workshop Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 2:00-3:00 pm in room 223 of the Student Center. RSVP on Owl Connect.
Ethical issues arise in PR constantly. With this workshop, you can participate in activities that will help you understand your values. This is an important step to take as you dive into interviews and apply for leadership positions. Knowing what you value can determine the kind of company, organization, or person you work for. Plus, this workshop has some free stuff that you can get if you attend!
Cultivating Thriving Communities Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 2:30-3:30 pm in room 200A of the Student Center. RSVP on Owl Connect.
This workshop will feature Dr. Alfiee Breland-Noble, a renowned psychologist, author, and public speaker. She is the Director of The AAKOMA (African American Knowledge Optimized for Mindfully-Healthy Adolescents) Project, Senior Scientific Advisor to the Steve Fund, and an Associate Professor of Psychiatry. She will be leading this workshop and talking about how Temple students can be conscious and supportive of their fellow Owls. Respecting other people’s backgrounds goes hand-in-hand with managing relationships with the public. They are also providing some light snacks so you don’t want to miss it!
Identify in Conflict with CERT- Tuesday, March 20, 2018 from 2:00-3:00 pm in room 223 of the Student Center. RSVP on Owl Connect.
Conflict is unavoidable in PR, and just life in general. The Conflict Education Resource Team (CERT) is hosting a workshop so students can learn how to react to conflict based on their personalities. Not only will you get useful tips about dealing with conflict head on, but you’ll also get some free swag just for attending!
