Our third membership spotlight of the semester is Katie Lindley. This is her second semester in PRSSA, and she has really been standing out! Here is a Q&A we had with her:
Q: Where are you from? What is your major/minor?
A: I'm from Long Island NY and I'm a CSI major with a possible double major in human development and community engagement hehe
Q: How long have you been a member of PRSSA?
A: This is my second semester in PRSSA.
Q: Why do you love PRSSA? What do you hope to get out of it?
A: I love the PRSSA community of supportive professional people that motivate me to be successful! I joined so I could learn PR skills while still majoring in my passions and I definitely have learned a lot in the fundraising and conference committees!
Q: What committee are you a part of? What have you done with this committee?
A: I'm apart of the fundraising and conference committee and I've made such good friends! In the fundraising committee, I helped with the snacks on a stick fundraiser by making the beloved iCarly theme and I also helped make the chocolate covered strawberries! In conference committee, I was a part of the PR committee where I learned how to make graphics and draft emails! We also wrote letters to other PRSSA chapters and that was a lot of fun.
Q: What PRSSA events have you participated in?
A: I've participated in all the fundraisers and the mentorship program!
Q: What other TU organizations are you a part of?
A: I'm also the incoming president for the Temple chapter of She's the First and the incoming Director of Finance for Box of Balloons Philadelphia, and I'm also in the Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority!
Q: Coolest place you’ve ever traveled to?
A: I haven't done a lot of traveling yet but my two dream destinations are Prague and Kenya (or anywhere in Africa).
Q: Favorite social media platform and why?
A: I love Twitter. That bird app controls my life. I just think it's the funniest and fun I'm on it all day (along with TikTok).
Q: Dream job?
A: My dream job is to manage my own non-profit that focuses on children's education or literally any cause I'm passionate about!
