Speaker Program Announced for 2020 Mid-Atlantic District Conference, March 13 & 14 Hosted by Temple University’s PRSSA Chapter

 

PHILADELPHIA (Jan. 28, 2020) – A robust line-up of speakers has been announced for this year’s PRSSA Mid-Atlantic District Conference, March 13 and 14. Featured lunchtime keynote speaker, Dr. Rod Wallace will discuss the importance of digital technology in the ever-changing world of interpersonal communication. PRogress Through Tech is hosted by Temple University’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA). 

 

Following Wallace, Louis Cointepas of Signal AI will take conference attendees through an interactive artificial intelligence-driven crisis communication simulation. In this simulation, attendees will have a chance to use their skills to navigate through a crisis situation. This artificial intelligence simulation allows participants to leverage technology and media intelligence to gain actionable insights.

The two-day event will begin on Friday, March 13 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. with a reception at the  Temple University Science Education and Research Center (1925 N. 12th St., Philadelphia). On Saturday, March 14, the conference will continue at the Wyndham Philadelphia Historic District, 400 Arch St., Philadelphia. Following opening remarks at breakfast, nine individual breakout sessions will take place throughout the day. TEMPLE UNIVERSITY’S PUBLIC RELATIONS STUDENT SOCIETY OF AMERICA

CHAPTER TO HOST 2020 DISTRICT CONFERENCE

 

PHILADELPHIA (Oct. 19 2019) – Temple University's chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) was awarded the District Conference by PRSSA at this past weekend’s international conference. The district conference, one of only 12 in the country, will be held in Philadelphia, March 13-14, 2020.

 

The conference's central theme is "PRogress Through Tech." The theme will explore how technology is affecting the public relations industry, potential emerging technologies and how future practitioners can integrate traditional PR skills with these changes. The conference will explore trending topics like SEO, digital analytics and big data as well as the future roles artificial intelligence, deep fake technology, and handling crisis in the digital age will play in PR.

 

The exact location will be announced soon, and is expected to attract public relations students from New York to Washington. The district conference will offer students a unique opportunity to expand their network by connecting with professionals, guest speakers from a variety of industries and fellow PRSSA members. Panels, workshops and various networking events will take place the second day of conference.
