TEMPLE UNIVERSITY’S PRSSA CHAPTER HOSTS MID-ATLANTIC REGIONAL CONFERENCE

Conference held in conjunction with student chapter’s 50th Anniversary

(PHILADELPHIA, PA — Oct. 8, 2018) — Temple University’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) was awarded the Mid-Atlantic regional conference by PRSSA at this past weekend’s national conference. In conjunction with the chapter’s 50th anniversary, the conference will be held March 22 and 23, 2019.

The exact location will be announced within the following weeks, and is expected to attract public relations students from New York to Washington. The regional conference will offer students a unique opportunity to expand their network by connecting with professionals, guest speakers from a variety of industries and fellow PRSSA members. Panels, workshops and various networking events will take place during the two days. For more information, visit www.templeprssa.org/regionalconference or email fullserviceprorc@gmail.com.

The conference’s central theme is ”Being a Full Service PRo.” The theme addresses the need for modern public relations professionals to be full-service, no matter what type of public relations work they take on.

“The awarding of the regional conference is a validation of the hard work our chapter has put in for many years,” said Assistant Chair for Public Relations and chapter Faculty Advisor Gregg Feistman. “In today’s fast-paced industry it is imperative to be knowledgeable on a variety of skills extending beyond the normal functions of a public relations practitioner. Temple PRSSA has established the theme to prepare students for their careers. As the public relations industry continues to evolve, professionals must adapt to effectively serve clients.”

“As the oldest student chapter in the region, and one of the oldest and largest in the country, Temple PRSSA has served countless students by forging relationships and emphasizing mentorship, networking and leadership,” he added. “This is an incredibly exciting opportunity not only for Temple students, but for interested students throughout both the Philadelphia and Mid-Atlantic region. We look forward to hosting everyone.”
